BLACK HISTORY CELEBRATION
Sunday 21 October to Sunday 21 October
St. Matthias Community Centre
020 7987 0257 / www.splashcd.org
This event is a young people’s celebration and remembrance of their roots, uniting East and West around the globe and around the organisation’s Blackwall and Limehouse community. There will be music from Asia and the African American tradition, poetry, song and cultural foods. The afternoon has a family focus and its mixed programme will include drumming from Africa and the Caribbean, dance, face painting and mask making among other things. The evening session is a chance for all to discover and celebrate their roots. Both sessions are planned and managed by young people.
Presented by Splash Arts.
