BPA Zena Edwards

Come and join an evening of both remembrance and celebration that combines the energy and spirit of reggae, gospel, hip-hop, soul and RnB. A whole host of musicians will come together and raise their voices to the roof.

The event features the Mmenson players of Efiba Arts. Made of elephant tusk, Mmenson horns were used in West Africa, in conjunction with the talking drum, to warn of impending slave raiding attacks, and to rally resistance. They are sounded here to act for justice and human dignity.

There will be poetry by spoken word artist Zena Edwards created especially for the event. Featuring the best in Black British music, Celebration of Life also features soul supremo Omar, Nate James, the United Praise Choir, Young Kof and Paulette Taja, all backed by the Lifeforce Band.

Presented by Metropolitan Black Police Association
